GPA Calculator – Calculate Weighted Average on Different Scales

The GPA calculator computes weighted averages based on course completions, grades, or other values. Enter grades and their weights to get the final GPA.

The tool supports multiple scales: 0-4.0 (US GPA), 0-100% (percentage), and custom scales. You can calculate your entire academic career GPA or a single course final grade.

How is Weighted Average Calculated?

Weighted average is calculated by multiplying each value by its weight, adding the results, and dividing by the sum of weights. For example, exam (60% weight) grade A and project (40% weight) grade B: (4.0×0.6 + 3.0×0.4) = 2.4 + 1.2 = 3.6 GPA. The GPA calculator does this automatically.

📚 More Info

The average calculator computes the arithmetic mean of numbers quickly and easily. Suitable for students, teachers, and anyone who needs to calculate averages in daily life or work.

✅ What does this do?

Enter numbers and the calculator will compute their arithmetic mean and other statistics.

  • Calculate the average of any set of numbers instantly.
  • Also see the sum, count, and possibly the median.
  • Add or remove numbers flexibly and the result updates in real time.
🧠 How to interpret results?

The arithmetic mean is the most common average, but it's sensitive to outliers.

  • A single exceptionally large or small number can skew the average.
  • The median might be a better measure of center if there are outliers in the data.
  • A weighted average gives different results if values have different weights.
⚠️ Good to know

The calculator computes a simple arithmetic mean – other types of averages require different methods.

  • Weighted grade averages require considering credit points.
  • For decimal numbers, use either dots or commas according to your preference.
  • Your data is not stored – all calculations happen in your browser.
Note: The average calculator is a handy quick tool – for weighted averages, try the grade calculator.
