Pace ↔ Speed Converter – Convert Running Pace to Speed and Vice Versa

The Pace ↔ Speed converter converts running or cycling pace (min/km or min/mile) to speed (km/h or mph) and back. Also calculates estimated race times for different distances.

Enter pace or speed in one unit and get equivalent values in all others. The tool also calculates what your estimated finish times would be for 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon at that pace.

What pace is needed for a 10K under an hour?

10K under 60 minutes requires under 6:00 min/km pace (6.2 mph). Half marathon (13.1 miles) under 2 hours requires under 9:09 min/mile. Marathon (26.2 miles) under 4 hours: under 9:09 min/mile. The world record marathon is under 2:02:00, which means about 4:38 min/mile — practically near sprint pace sustained for 26.2 miles.

📚 More Info

The pace/speed converter converts between speed units: km/h, m/s, mph, knots, and others. A handy quick tool when you need a speed conversion fast.

✅ What does this do?

Enter speed in any unit, and the converter calculates corresponding values in all other units.

  • Convert km/h ↔ m/s ↔ mph ↔ knots ↔ ft/s instantly.
  • See all units simultaneously with one input.
  • Copy the desired value directly for use.
🧠 How to interpret results?

The conversion is mathematically accurate – different units are used in different contexts.

  • km/h is most common on roads in Europe, mph in USA and UK.
  • Knots are standard in marine and aviation (1 knot ≈ 1.852 km/h).
  • m/s is the SI system base unit, used in science.
️ Good to know

The speed converter is especially handy when traveling and in international contexts.

  • Speed limits are posted in different units in different countries – check before driving.
  • Wind speed is often reported in m/s (weather forecasts) or knots (marine weather).
  • The tool works in your browser – your data isn't stored.
Note: The speed converter is a general-purpose quick tool – also try the unit converter for broader conversions.
